TERMUX : API


Access Android functions from Termux
Expose basic Android functionality like sending SMS or accessing GPS data to the
com.termux app. This is an add-on which requires that the main Termux app is
installed to use.

* Read and send sms messages from your terminal.
* Access device GPS location sensor from scripts.
* Pipe the result of commands into the device text-to-speech engine.
* Vibrate the device when something interesting happens.
* Access the system clipboard from shell scripts.
* List contacts from the system contact list.

Besides installing this app an additional package is required to install inside
Termux:

$ apt install termux-api


Permissions

read call log
This app can read your call history.
read your text messages (SMS or MMS)
This app can read all SMS (text) messages stored on your phone.
send and view SMS messages
Allows the app to send SMS messages. This may result in unexpected charges. Malicious apps may cost you money by sending messages without your confirmation.
directly call phone numbers
Allows the app to call phone numbers without your intervention. This may result in unexpected charges or calls. Note that this doesn't allow the app to call emergency numbers. Malicious apps may cost you money by making calls without your confirmation.
read your contacts
Allows the app to read data about your contacts stored on your phone. Apps will also have access to the accounts on your phone that have created contacts. This may include accounts created by apps you have installed. This permission allows apps to save your contact data, and malicious apps may share contact data without your knowledge.
take pictures and videos
This app can take pictures and record videos using the camera while the app is in use.
record audio
This app can record audio using the microphone while the app is in use.
access approximate location only in the foreground
This app can get your approximate location from location services while the app is in use. Location services for your device must be turned on for the app to get location.
access precise location only in the foreground
This app can get your precise location from location services while the app is in use. Location services for your device must be turned on for the app to get location. This may increase battery usage.
set wallpaper
Allows the app to set the system wallpaper.
control vibration
Allows the app to control the vibrator.
transmit infrared
Allows the app to use the phone's infrared transmitter.
read phone status and identity
Allows the app to access the phone features of the device. This permission allows the app to determine the phone number and device IDs, whether a call is active, and the remote number connected by a call.
view network connections
Allows the app to view information about network connections such as which networks exist and are connected.
view Wi-Fi connections
Allows the app to view information about Wi-Fi networking, such as whether Wi-Fi is enabled and name of connected Wi-Fi devices.
connect and disconnect from Wi-Fi
Allows the app to connect to and disconnect from Wi-Fi access points and to make changes to device configuration for Wi-Fi networks.
modify system settings
Allows the app to modify the system's settings data. Malicious apps may corrupt your system's configuration.
use biometric hardware
Allows the app to use biometric hardware for authentication
access body sensors (like heart rate monitors)
Allows the app to access data from sensors that monitor your physical condition, such as your heart rate.
run at startup
Allows the app to have itself started as soon as the system has finished booting. This can make it take longer to start the phone and allow the app to slow down the overall phone by always running.
control Near Field Communication
Allows the app to communicate with Near Field Communication (NFC) tags, cards, and readers.
request install packages
Allows an application to request installation of packages.
request delete packages
Allows an application to request deletion of packages.
use fingerprint hardware
Allows the app to use fingerprint hardware for authentication
